IBO Player is the only application IPTVOD supports, and that is a deliberate choice. It installs on virtually every platform — including the non-Android smart TVs that most IPTV apps ignore — and concentrating on one app means our support team knows exactly which screen you are looking at when you call.
Before you start: have your activation email open. It contains the playlist URL, EPG URL, username and password you will need. One subscription authorises one device at a time — if you plan to watch on a second screen, you will need a second subscription. Plans are on the pricing page.
How IBO Player works — read this first
IBO Player differs from most IPTV apps in one important way: it uses remote playlist activation. Instead of typing your credentials into the app itself, you enter them on the IBO Player website, and their system pushes the playlist down to the app on your device.
This trips people up the first time, so it is worth stating plainly: installing the app is step one, but nothing appears on screen until you have registered the device on the playlist portal. The full sequence is install → read your device details → add the playlist online → reopen the app.
Installing IBO Player on your device
Android phones and tablets
The easiest platform, because you have a browser and can install directly.
- Download the installation file from the official IBO Player website.
- Android will warn you that the file came from outside the Play Store. This is expected — choose Download anyway.
- Open the downloaded file.
- Tap Install.
- Once installed, open the app. An introductory screen explains the playlist process — tap OK.
- The app is now loaded and waiting for a playlist. Continue to the playlist section below.
Windows PCs and laptops
Note that the Windows build requires Windows 10 or later and is 64-bit only.
- Download the Windows installer from the official site.
- Windows Security will stop the installer because it did not come from the Microsoft Store. Click More info.
- Click Run anyway.
- Click Next to begin.
- Tick the desktop-shortcut box if you want one, then Next.
- Click Install, then Finish to launch IBO Player.
Amazon Fire TV Stick
The Fire TV Stick needs a side-loading tool because IBO Player is not in the Amazon store. This is the longest installation, but it is entirely mechanical.
- From the Fire TV home screen, select the magnifier icon and open the search field.
- Search for Downloader — type "D" and it usually appears as the first suggestion. Select it.
- Choose the app to begin installation.
- Select Download.
- When prompted to grant media access, choose Allow.
- Open Downloader and move the selection to the URL field beside the Go button, then press OK on the remote.
- Enter the official Downloader code for the IBO Player Android build — 511693 — and select Go.
- Wait while the file downloads. Do not press anything during this step.
- Fire TV will block the install because the file came from outside the Amazon store. Select Settings.
- Choose Install unknown apps.
If you cannot see this option, go to About and press OK on the remote seven times to reveal Developer Options, then return here. - Select Downloader and press OK so the toggle changes from OFF to ON.
- Return to the installer and proceed through the Next and OK prompts.
- Select OK on the welcome message. The app is ready.
macOS (MacBook and iMac)
- Download the macOS build from the official download section.
- Open the downloaded file and drag the icon into your Applications folder.
- After a few seconds the app is installed. Open Launchpad and click the icon.
- macOS will refuse the first launch because the app came from outside the App Store. This is normal.
- Click the Apple menu → System Settings → Privacy & Security. Scroll to the security section near the bottom, where IBO Player is listed as blocked. Click Open Anyway.
- Confirm with Open Anyway. This choice is permanent — subsequent launches open normally.
LG webOS and Samsung Smart TV
This is where IBO Player earns its place. Non-Android smart TVs run closed operating systems that most IPTV developers avoid entirely, which leaves owners of LG and Samsung sets with very few options. IBO Player is one of the few that is properly available. The steps below use an LG webOS set; Samsung and Toshiba are essentially identical.
- Open the LG Content Store (Samsung: the Apps store).
- Select the magnifier icon in the top-right corner.
- Search for IBO Player.
- In the results, pick the app named exactly "Ibo Player". Several similarly named apps exist — ignore them.
- Select Install.
- Select Launch to open it.
- A welcome message appears on first run. Continue to the playlist steps below.
Finding your MAC Address and Device Key
You need two values from the app before you can add a playlist.
- Open IBO Player on your streaming device.
- From the main dashboard, select the person icon.
- The Device Info panel in the top-left shows your MAC Address and Device Key. Write both down — you will type them into the website in a moment.
Adding your IPTVOD playlist
- On a phone or computer, open the IBO Player website and select Manage Playlist from the top menu.
- Enter the MAC Address and Device Key you just noted, and log in.
- You are now in the playlist management area. Add your IPTVOD subscription using whichever of the two methods below matches the credentials in your activation email.
Method A — M3U streaming line
Use this if your activation email gave you a single long playlist URL.
- Click Add Playlist.
- Playlist name: anything you like — "IPTVOD" works.
- Playlist URL: paste the playlist link from your activation email.
- XMLTV EPG URL: optional. Leave it empty and IBO Player pulls the guide from the playlist automatically. Fill it only if you were given a separate EPG URL.
- Protect this playlist: tick to set a PIN if children use the device.
- Click Save.
Method B — Xtream Codes (XC) login
Use this if your email supplied a host address, username and password separately.
- From the dashboard, click Add XC Playlist.
- Fill in the Host (the server address), Username and Password exactly as provided — they are case-sensitive.
- Click Save.
Start watching
Reopen IBO Player on your device. The playlist syncs from the portal and your channel list, on-demand library and EPG appear. The complete lineup is documented on the channel list.
Tidying up the Live TV section
The default Live TV layout can look cluttered, with category blocks overlapping. Open Settings → Manage Categories and hide the country groups you do not watch. With forty-six country groups in the lineup, this single step makes the guide dramatically easier to navigate.
Favourites and search
Highlight any channel and use the favourite option to pin it to your own list — the fastest way to build a personal lineup out of 25,420 channels. The search function inside Live TV finds channels by name when browsing is impractical.
Useful settings
- Parental control — PIN-protect categories or the whole playlist.
- Manage categories — hide the groups you never open.
- Live TV player / VOD player — switch decoders if a specific stream misbehaves.
- Auto boot on start — launch IBO Player automatically when the TV powers on.
- Clear cache — the first thing to try if the guide looks stale.
- Check for updates — keep the app current; older builds cause most playback oddities.
Troubleshooting
The playlist is not showing on my device
Confirm you saved it against the correct MAC Address — this is the single most common mistake, especially in households with more than one device. Then close IBO Player fully and reopen it. If it still does not appear, clear the cache from Settings.
Buffering or stuttering
Restart your router first and confirm the connection holds at least 16 Mbps. Wired ethernet is noticeably more reliable than Wi-Fi for 4K streams. If the problem only shows up during peak evening hours, your ISP may be throttling streaming traffic — IPTVOD is fully VPN compatible, and a VPN usually resolves it.
My credentials have not arrived
Activation normally completes within 5 to 10 minutes of payment. Check your junk and spam folders, since automated mail is often filtered. If more than an hour passes, message us through the contact page.
A specific channel will not play
Try another channel in the same category. If only one is affected, the source feed is likely down temporarily; report it and we will check. If the whole category fails, clear the cache and reopen the app.
